Current: Currently it is running IRC Services 5.0.58 providing ChanServ, NickServ, MemoServ, OperServ and HostServ.

History: Services was first running off on webserve.nc.us.xnet.org, followed by digiunix.wi.us.xnet.org then silence.uk.eu.xnet.org then penguin.uk.eu.xnet.org ...(my knowledge is missing here)... orblivion.tx.us.xnet.org...bellevue.tx.us.xnet.org

Up to 1999, Xnet Services backup was known as Sparc2.

- NickServ - Nickname protection 
- 
- (this prevents anyone else from using your nickname while you are not on 
- AfterX.net).

- Main commands:
- /msg nickserv HELP REGISTER
- /msg nickserv REGISTER <PASSWORD> <YOUR-EMAIL>  
- 
- (nb: you must supply a valid email address as you get the second part of 
- the registration process via email and is used in future if you forgot 
- your password)

- ChanServ - Channel protection 
- 
- (this allows you to keep this channel, and prevent other people from 
- controlling it, as well as allowing certain people with certain levels 
- of control over your channel as you desire).

- To use ChanServ, you must first register fully, your nickname to 
- NickServ - see above.

- Main commands:
- 
- /msg chanserv HELP REGISTER
- /msg chanserv REGISTER <#CHAN> <PASSWORD> <DESCRIPTION>

- MemoServ - Memo messages service
- 
- (this allows you to send a registered nickname who is off-line a short 
- message for them to receive later).
- 
- To use MemoServ, you must first register fully, your nickname to 
- NickServ - see above.
- 
- Main commands:
- /msg memoserv HELP
- /msg memoserv SEND <NICK> <MESSAGE>
-

- Note: do not include the "<" and ">" symbols when sending commands to 
- services as shown above - it is shown to highlight it is a variable.
