Client User Modes

User definable modes

These modes can be change by the user

  • B Bot Marks you as being a Bot
  • d Makes it so you can not receive channel PRIVMSGs
  • g Can send & read globops and locops (IRC Operators only)
  • G Bad word Filters out all the bad words per configuration
  • i Invisible Invisible (not shown in /who)
  • p Hides the channels you are in in a /whois reply
  • s Server notices Can listen to server notices
  • T Prevents you from receiving CTCPs
  • v Receives infected DCC Send Rejection notice
  • V WebTV User Marks you as a WebTV user
  • w Wallop Can listen to wallop messages
  • x Hidden Hostname Gives user a hidden hostname


Server configuration user modes

These modes are specified in the server configuration file and can not be altered via IRCd commands

  • a Services Admin
  • A Server Admin
  • C Co-Admin
  • N Network Administrator
  • o Local IRC Operator
  • O Global IRC Operator
  • R Allows you to only receive PRIVMSGs/NOTICEs from registered (+r) users


Session user modes

These modes are assigned during your chat session (either by the IRCd or Services)

  • t Declare vhost Says you are using a /vhost
