IRC Operators, known as IRCops and Opers are people who volunteer to help to keep the network stable, to provide help and advice to users and to prevent and minimise any attacks as well as weed out any unscrupulous users who are on the network for illegal reasons or contravenes the AfterX Charter. The majority of them are found in the main network channel - #AfterX and also in #AfterX-Help Opers come in two flavours - local and global and usually relate to the extent of their ability to do things (locals can only do things local to his or her server, whereas globals can effect something beyond his or her server to the entire network). On AfterX, global Opers must be fully trained and pass the AfterX IRCop Test by Training-Com.
Admins and Co-Admins are just like Opers, except they have the added responsibility of maintaining their server, keeping the software up to date and ensuring the configurations are up to AfterX's standards to promote reliability and responsiveness. Co-Admins and Admins are members of the Network Committee (Net-Com). Either the Admin or the Co-Admin of a server has voting rights.
The Network Chair is an elected network admin, and is in overall charge of Net-Com and may override any votes that he/she believes is against the spirit of AfterX and to the detriment of our users and staff.
